My Closet Confession

There a lot of things about trying to feel at home when you move away from the community you've know your whole life, but as I walk into the my new closet, each piece of garment has a distinguished memory. From a Summer trip to Christmas cheers; your garments speak in volumes.

Once, I've learned to settle in my new home, it's the best feeling to let my curls down, go for a walk around the neighborhood, wake up next to my husband and Jordan's sniffles and make a homemade cup of coffee.

I spend so much time alone that I've learned to become a self explorer like one of my Favorite Icon's Anthony Bourdain and although I may not travel like he does, my heart deeply desires the opportunity.

So, I came to a self realization, that I will start my own travel journey to a variety of places here in beautiful California with a little fashion trend.

The sky is the limit and my adventure awaits.

Effortless Summer Dresses

Summer heat, cocktails and bbq's are just around the corner, so lets start refreshing our closets with some simple effortless summer dresses.

H&M has a great selection of dresses that can carry you from simple beach days to night life's party. Here are three of my favorite dresses I came across on their website.

Mother's Day

There's something classy about women wearing dresses, whether it's dressy, chic or causal. This is coming from a girl who as a child hated the idea of wearing a dress. I'm not quite sure or why I dislike dresses so much as a child, but perhaps it was the fact that I was a little town boy growing up playing sports.

My sisters often said, "you need to be more girly, lily!", but I just ignored them. I was comfortable in my headband, t-shirt and pants; perhaps a little too much as I look back at some pictures (lol).

Well chikas, el proximo paso es letting you know about the great $20 deal dress I found at Charlotte Russe. This casual, but lovely window pane checked dress had me feeling very girly and ready to celebrate Mother's Day.

Downtown Art

Life Lesson #1

Let your Dreams be bigger than your Fears, as I tell myself  "Mujer..get out there and explore your life, new adventures, meet new people and just get lost in what the city has to offer".

Dreaming without limits, living in every moment and loving hard no es simple, pero following every bit of happiness is a wonderful accomplishment.

Moments so small like visiting an art gallery, are moments you will remember because at some point in your visit you will drift away as you close your eyes and get lost in the artist story, moment and adventure.

Sunday with Be Bright Pink

Feliz Domingo chikas!

Espero ke su fin de semana este lleno con allegria because mine sure was,  I attended another great Bright Pink event hosted by  Westfield Mission Valley mall. The VIPink Brunch  included fashion trends by City Chic and Charlette Rousse along with delicious food and drinks in a shabby chic outdoor atmosphere.

After I checked in for the event, I saw this beautiful lovely floral centerpiece  that captured my attention the minute I saw it and I have to say, I had the guilty thought of almost wanting to take the centerpiece home with me.

Saturday's Yoga Look

There nothing quite like getting up early a.m. for a yoga session to show support for the Bright Pink Stretch and Snack event  hosted by Wester Horton Plaza .

I couldn't help but feel excited that I took part of this event and show my support as well as donate to the cause I am profoundly passionate about; besides all of the proceeds from today's event will go towards continuing to raise breast and ovarian cancer awareness.

To see more details of the yoga session with Lisa Castle and JIMBO's Naturally Snacks visit

Jars, Bottles, and Things

Have you ever been to the Bottle & Woods Store?

Never, maybe or thinking about it... well don't hold back, if you live around the San Diego area this site is a hidden charm. I definitely recommend stopping by Kearny Mesa city to check out their line of amazing recycled items.

I had the opportunity to attend an event on site and as I browsed around the store, I was in awed of the unique items I came across, but most of all the artistic way they created amazing candle stick holders, jewelry, chandeliers, lamps and much more. All from liquor, beer, wine bottles. Yes! Bottles of alcohol that is... and who knew these bottles can have such a unique modern look in today's industry.

Aside from the recycled glass, you also see great wood pattern objects that are immensely beautiful throughout the store. Simple recyclable wood gave this store a nice cool ambiance that made every individual feel as although they were vacationing somewhere in paradise.

As a matter of fact chika's, their mission is to create sustainable items that are "ecofriendly to the environment and to do good for the neighborhood" (bottles&wood).
