A Plate full of Happiness

Lunch is one of my favorite times of the day to eat; especially when you get
to enjoy delicious food. A couple weeks ago, my girlfriend and I
decided to try out Cafe Gratitude a collection of cuisine food that
is 100 % organic plant based.
The café is simple and transparent by
promoting healthy eating with a menu that solely focuses on
supporting a healthy lifestyle.
Plus, I got to see my friend's Sui Generis Jewelry line.

Manicure's are the best way to express your favorite color or art work on your nails.
Now, I am not no beauty Guru, but I try to keep up with my beauty routine
by trying out new things myself such as: hair coloring, makeup, nails etc.
If I don't get it right the first time (or after several attempts), I often end up at the beauty salon
to have an expert do it because after all it saves the hassle, but I like to try new
things. So, today, I am trying the Scratch Nail Wraps with the lacework design.
I found this brand really easy to work with and logged on to their Instructions page
to help me with the process. My results came out good, but I think I need more practice.

Fall is Here

It's finally beginning to feel like fall in Southern California
between you and I "it's about freaking time!!"
I've had the urge for cool weather since returning back from Texas, but with all the hot
and humid days lately.... it was making me feel as although I never left South Texas.
Texas was a great experience and one that I will never regret.
After all, it was where my blog was born and I'm a proud mama!
But now it's time to get my life back on track.
It's been a good solid year since returning to California
and I have to say being in San Diego has been a perfect comeback.
So, to get in the mood for Fall, I am sporting fall fashion from head to toe and
I am excited to be collaborating with a good friend Cheli.
Check out her hand made fashion jewelry designs at Sui Generis Jewelry.

Punta Cana: Beach Ready

I can't say that I have the most perfect body,
but I definitely learned to feel more comfortable
and confident when I slip into a two piece bathing suit.
I know some of you may say "Why?", but after having my
ovarian cyst oophorectomy surgery; I was left with visible scars
that I became highly self conscious about especially in a two piece bathing suit.
I often worried about what people
would think if they saw my scars close to my bikini line
but I quickly learned to love, nurture and accept my body
because we all have a story to tell.
Your body is not ruined
it's simple a beauty mark
that was left behind
to share your story
with other beautiful women. ~ (Me)

Fall meets Summer

Fall is here, but Summer seems to be lingering around longer than expected.
By now, most chikas are wanting to wear their fashionable fringe boots, sweaters and long sleeves, but how do we go about meshing Summer wardrobe with Fall styles?
It's simple! For example, I took out my Summer Shorts and pair it with a fall half sleeve shirt.
This outfit combination was either a hit or miss and surprisingly it was a hit! (since I got compliments on the look).
So just before you start tucking away those Summer Shorts make sure you style them into your fall wardrobe. After all... Summer is just beginning to slowly say goodbye before we start feeling the cold front, but that just might be a while.

Isla Saona

The sea surrounding Isla Saona is rich in wildlife, with many species of beautiful birds and tropical marine fish including my all time favorite known as the "Starfish." The tropical island's heat, white sandy beaches and cool breeze is a short distance from the mainland of Punta Cana. It is one of the most popular sites in the Dominican Republic because of it's unique scenery.

Sweet Summer

Somewhere deep in our hearts,
we all desire to travel more
and when the opportunity presents itself,
we all scramble to find the best destination trip.

If your anything like me "A Summer Gal," then you love being
in warm places where the sun kisses your skin and your toes are full of sand.
Summer Vibes has taken a whole new meaning while being in the
Dominican Republic and you know me, I am all about the vibes!

How happy can one girl be with a little white lace dress
and taking stroll down the white sandy beaches of Punta Cana.

Sunny or not, Feeling Happy in Summer is a sweet gift.

Casa Artelexia: Dia de los Muertos

This past Saturday night was fun as I got to explore "Dia de los Muertos" at Casa Artelexia.
The store's colorful walls, art and crafts speak in volumes with some of Mexico's beautiful culture.
Every corner was filled with unique pieces, but most of all told a story.
The Mexican culture is unique because it's not all the same(like most people think) it has different languages, food, and traditions, but there is one common tradition known as the "day of the dead."
A tradition that includes building private altars called ofrendas, honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed.
So, if you have a chance this October,
stop by and visit  Casa Artelexia and get to know Mexico's cultura.

Little Black Dress

We're into October and the month began with a special celebration
that included wedding bells, cake and dancing as our good friends
 got hitched!!

As a bridesmaid, we all have a duty to be there for the bride
and be ready to cry, laugh and smile as you witness your friends happiness.

I was excited about coming out in a Fall wedding, but recently in California
the Summer weather has been lingering around longer than expected.
So, I wanted to find a dress that would be stylish and cool at the same time.

And, so, I found the little black dress by H&M and it was perfect fit for the special occasion!
