Feminism

I'm feeling quite feminine today, but what does it mean when
some one labels you as a feminist.  To be quite honest, I'm not really sure,
since I've never been labeled as one, but I do believe in women's right to equality,
health care needs and social right for justice (especially in 3rd world countries).

So, if that makes me a feminist then so be it...
after all I am a woman and I have a passion to voice
and advocate for women's health care needs. With that said,
one of my future main goals is to take a trip to South America
and visit a women's and children's shelter and dedicate my time
to learning the population needs.

On that note, feminism is the radical notion that women are people.
Regardless of race, cultural and age women deserve to be seen as equals
and never be consider less than a man.

As my previous CSULB Latina Hermanas would say,"El Poder de la Mujer!"

~let's make our voice count!~

Another Monday

I've been at work lately really thinking on what my next step is going to
be after an anticipated opportunity didn't go as planned. I mean I've worked hard
throughout my career in the health field, but what for? I'm unsure at this point.
But I know there's something more waiting for me, and I will begin to uncover each page
in the process as I write in my journal.

Honestly, I don't know how I feel....it could be a mix of emotions.
It will take a lot of cajones to get over the disappointment,
but , it's time to start expanding myself to new horizons.

Y con eso chikas,I leave you with this in mind,
" The day is what you make it! So, why not make it a great one?"

Palm Springs Vibes

Although I am not in Palm Springs enjoying the Coachella music festival,
it sure doesn't stop me from venturing into the Coachella fashion. And if I must say,
one thing every girl should pack in their bojo bag is a simple romper. The kind of romper
that makes a fashion statement all while being comfortable.

Old Navy has a great selection of petite rompers on sale and I happen to select
one that can be versatile from day to night. The printed black romper material is light
and loose, so in case your under that warm hot Sun all day you can remain fresh and cool.
And if your ever so lucky to catch a nice breeze, the garment will make your body dance.

And of course it doesn't hurt to accessorize every now and then, so
I added a simple gold cuff bracelet by HM and an amara tassle necklace.

It's a picture perfect day to reminisce and rewind on some nearby Summer love and
most of all to take more risk in life. So, play the music in your car and let it take to places you never been before.

e.l.f. cosmetics

Sunday's mood started off with getting ready with the e.l.f cosmetics line.
The selfie ready foundation brush made it easy to apply my foundation
and right after that I defined by lips and face

Neutrogena

Every girl likes a day where she can feel pampered and the we all grow summit
team definitely provided a special treat to the guest. From the moment you walked
in you know that a mini makeover,  sweet bites and a beauty consultation was the perfect recipe
for day two at the conference.

Let me just say, that the beauty of a conference is being able to network,
build relationships and enjoy the brand suites.
And this year's Neutrogena suite did not disappoint not one bit.
I mean after all, the nature of this trip is to come out feeling good and empowered and
that's exactly what Neutrogena delivered.

OGX hair affair

It's official I am having an affair with my current shampoo & conditioner
after discovering OGX Coconut Curls product line. I've found
a product line that bring my curls back to life and
I'm pretty darn excited about it!!

You see, I've been on a mission to find the perfect hair products that
would benefit my type of curly hair and have gone far and beyond
using a variety of brand products that were just decent.

After a while, I felt like I wasn't going to achieve how
I would love to feel and see my hair, but then I came across the  OGX
product line while shopping for some Easter clearance items and birthday gift at Walgreens.

An island-inspired blend infused with coconut oil, sweet honey, and citrus oil helps create escape for lackluster curls that want to bounce and shine. (Yes my hair needs to bounce chikas!)
This formula blend helps to nourish strands, boost spirals, and reduce flyaways for perfect frizz-free curls
that smell as great as they look (www.ogxbeauty.com).

Food Envy

Saturday afternoon's are the best especially if it involves food.
As you all know the San Diego Latino Film Festival was last month and along
with the week's long celebration a food festival was included.
Yes, ladies and gentleman a Latino food festival;
I had the opportunity to taste some of Tijuana's
best chef's comfort food and let me just say, "delicioso!".

Come take a look at some of the best small bites
that amazingly brought an explosion of Latin flavors
to my palette.

A.M. Wake up Call

This past month has been challenging for me as I find myself consistently on
the run, but to be quite honest I wouldn't have it any other way.
Partly, because I find myself wanting to be involved in so many things
and that is not a bad thing (unless I go crazy..).

My morning ritual is pretty much the same everyday,
I roll out of bed with my crazy curls as I try to
sneak out silently to let my husband catch up on his (zzz's)
and right before stepping out of the room
I give Jordan (our mix shepherd) a quick caress on her head.
I then realize my morning is just getting started.

I often take 10 minutes of my morning
to really reflect on things that I thought could of gone better.
And realize it's time to really confront head on
what my next plan is. Are you on the same boat as me? Yes..
Maybe it's time to be a risk taker
and believe in the impossible because something really good is about to unfold.

I simply leave you with one question,
What's your next step?
